How much will it cost for hair transplant Turkey?

  • The cost of a hair transplant in Turkey can vary widely depending on various factors, including the clinic, the experience of the surgeon, the method of hair transplantation, and the number of grafts needed. Turkey is known for offering competitive prices for hair transplant procedures compared to many other countries.

On average, the cost of a hair transplant in Turkey can range from $1,500 to $4,000 or more. However, it’s essential to note that these are general estimates, and the actual cost can vary based on individual circumstances and the factors mentioned earlier.

Will I be left with scarring after undergoing a hair transplant?

  • Patients can avoid scarring by undergoing an FUE hair transplant. The advantage of FUE over FUT is that scars are almost impossible to detect. FUE patients have visible red pinpricks immediately after the grafts are removed and replanted in the balding areas. These marks typically fade away within ten days, and thereafter, there are no visible scars.

Will I feel pain during and after the transplant ?

  • Not necessarily. There is an element of discomfort in any surgical procedure, even if it is just the prick you feel when the anesthesia is administered. Most patients experience no great discomfort or pain while the procedure is carried out or in the days afterward. Extracting and replanting the grafts takes several hours. Most patients relax during this time by watching a video. Some are so relaxed when this process is happening that they fall asleep!

Will I continue to lose my natural hair after a hair transplant?

  • Hair loss is an ongoing process, so, indeed, there is a possibility that you may continue to experience further loss of your natural hair even following a hair transplant. Despite the permanence of the transplanted hair, there exists a certain risk that a patient may undergo continued loss of their original hair.

How long will it be before I notice a difference after a hair transplant?

  • Every individual undergoing a hair transplant should be aware that the positive outcomes won’t become immediately evident. In the initial month post hair transplant, the newly transplanted hair will naturally shed. This is a normal and anticipated phase, causing no need for concern. The crucial aspect during this period is the establishment of new roots in the scalp. With the passage of time, the regrowth of the transplanted hair becomes noticeable, and most patients start to observe a difference approximately three to six months after the procedure. However, it can take anywhere from one year to a year and a half before the full results of the hair transplant become apparent.

How much time do I need to take off work?

  • We advise a recovery period of one week. The majority of our patients undergo a single-day treatment, arriving in the morning and leaving in the afternoon with the transplant procedure completed. Following the surgery, patients are encouraged not to drive home themselves as they may still feel a bit groggy. Additionally, there are specific precautions to be taken in the days following the procedure to prevent any disruption to the newly transplanted hair grafts.
  • Wearing a buttoned-up shirt is recommended during this time, as pulling off a pull-over or T-shirt could potentially disturb the grafts as they settle in. We suggest waiting for a week before engaging in more strenuous activities, such as going to the gym. While there may still be some minor scarring after a week, most patients can generally resume their normal daily activities and return to work. This cautious approach allows for optimal healing and the best possible results.

Will the results be permanent?

  • The hair follicles that undergo transplantation are genetically resistant to baldness, theoretically ensuring their continuous growth throughout your lifetime. However, it’s important to note that even with this resistance, you may still observe hair loss in other areas of your head. In such cases, individuals might consider the possibility of pursuing another transplant procedure in the future.

How long will I need to rest?

  • Typically, a few days of taking it easy are recommended post-procedure to facilitate your body’s recovery. Refrain from overexertion and avoid activities such as going to the gym, running, or engaging in sexual activity for at least ten days. Allow your body the necessary time to recuperate during this initial period.

Does hair grow naturally after hair transplant?

  • Between 4 to 12 months post-surgery, the transplanted hair undergoes a transformation, becoming thicker, coarser, and fuller. Initially, in the early stages of Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), where natural hair grows in groups of single, double, triple, or rarely quad strands, the transplanted hair may initially grow as a single strand. However, over time, it will revert to its original grouping, whether it was a double, triple, or another configuration at the time of transplantation.

Are you put to sleep for hair transplant?

  • Anesthetic procedures are utilized for both harvesting and transplanting during a hair transplant. Local anesthesia is administered, involving the injection of a numbing medication such as lidocaine into the skin. The advantage of this approach is that you do not require general anesthesia, significantly reducing overall risk during the hair transplant procedure.

Can I cut my hair after hair transplant?

  • The positive aspect is that approximately three weeks post-surgery, you can confidently have your hair cut without risking any harm to the transplants or newly grown hair. However, it might be a prudent measure to consult with your hair transplant physician before proceeding with the haircut to ensure that the healing process of the scalp is progressing as expected.

How long does fue redness last?

  • Redness after an FUE hair transplant is typically a temporary complication, lasting no more than 3–4 days in most cases. Occasionally, a pinkish discoloration may persist for a few weeks.

How will my hair look like?

  • The transplanted hair will never be in the same condition as before hair loss due to the redistribution of hair from the donor area to cover a larger area. The density of hair per square centimeter decreases as the treated area expands.

Are there any side effects?

  • Hair transplant procedures have no long-term side effects or complications that would trouble patients in the future.

How long does the transplanted hair live?

  • Hair harvested from the non-loss area, typically the back of the head, has a different genetic code and remains in its new place for a lifetime.

Does the transplanted hair require special care or regular check-ups?

  • No special care is needed as the transplanted hair is still your own. Regular hair care routines can be continued as usual.

Does the transplanted hair grow longer?

  • After the transplant, hair starts to grow within three months, initially resembling a beard. Over time, it gains a natural, normal hair appearance.

Do some cosmetic products make hair grow thicker and faster?

Will there be swelling on the face after the procedure?

  • There might be a 10-15% swelling, but with appropriate post-procedure treatments, severe complications are rare.

Does it look natural? Is it obvious that the hair is implanted?

Does it require continuous care?

  • Continuous maintenance is not necessary after hair transplantation. Regular washing and styling can be resumed after a specific recovery period.

Will there be swelling and/or bruising?

  • Swelling due to anesthesia may occur, but it can be minimized with simple measures and treatments.

Can I go to the gym after the operation?

  • Light activities like walking can be resumed within a few days, but heavy sports that could damage the scalp skin should be avoided for a month.

When can I swim in the sea? When can I dye my hair?

  • Swimming in the sea or pool is not recommended for a month, and hair dye should be avoided for three months.

Will the transplanted hair grow back? Is there any guarantee?

  • After a successful operation, all transplanted hair is expected to grow. The growth of transplanted hair is not a concern with an experienced hair transplant team.

What is the difference between hair density and fullness?

  • “Density” refers to the number of hairs in an area, while “fullness” describes the appearance of hair regardless of density. Other factors like hair color, structure, and thickness also contribute to fullness.

How often does hair loss occur?

  • Hair loss is common, especially in men, with 25% experiencing it by age 25, increasing to 50% by age 50.

Will stress cause hair loss?

  • Stress can lead to common hair loss (telogen effluvium), but if the stress is alleviated, lost hair typically regrows within a year.

Is local anesthesia a risky procedure?

  • Local anesthesia is generally safe, and the risks are minimal when administered by an experienced physician.

Will there be traces of the operation on the nape and in the planted area?

  • With micro fine work and a non-damaging channeling technique, there are typically no visible traces in the donor and planted areas after the procedure.

Is it okay to use laser in hair transplantation?

  • Laser can be used, but its contribution to the process and results may be limited. Laser treatment may not be necessary for hair transplantation.

Does hair transplantation require hospital conditions?

  • Hair transplantation, a small surgical procedure with local anesthesia, does not necessitate hospital conditions. Comfortable and hygienic environments equipped for hair transplant operations are suitable.
